Meagan at the National Mall in Washington D.C.
Went for a hike around the National Mall with my dog. It was such a beautiful day. No cherry blossoms yet, but it was definitely spring time and the crowds were out in full force.

Big numbers in Karlsplatz
This number was very long. I totally forgot to see what the start of the number had written about it. Any guesses?

Man armed with longbow in Karlsplatz U-Bahn
All you ren-fair geeks probably recognize that this dude is casually holding a very nice carbon fibre longbow and a quiver. But who carries that kind of gear at 2 am through the Karlsplatz Ubahn?
Can anyone identify the case?

Zentral Friedhof Wien, Österreich – Valentin’s Tag
Karin and I went to the central cemetery in Vienna for Valentine’s day. What can I say, she’s a recovering goth chic. But for me it was a great chance to visit the opening and closing scenes of “The Third Man”. Dinner at Schloss Konkordia was underwhelming, since they specialize in Wiener Schnitzel and we are non-meat eaters. But the coffee and cake at Cafehaus off Favoritenstrasse was just perfect.
Laaben, Austria – islandpferde reiten
This was an Icelandic horse riding center in Laaben where Karin has been riding since 2002. It was cold, windy and wet, but a lot of fun. We took Meagan with us as well and she got to gallop around a bit with Brynir, the horse Karin always rides.

Meagan meets the Spanish Galgos in the Prater Park
It was -8 Celsius here and we were going for a jog. Once we got into the leash-free area though, we met up with the www.galgo-in-not.at group and their galgos took off after Meagan. She seemed to lead them on a bit but the pack soon ran her so far off they were out of sight for about twenty minutes. The Prater Park is pretty big, but these dogs and cover the lenght of the park in a couple of minutes, at which point they might be out in the street. Usually I just have to whistle and she will circle back around with the other dogs playing catch up. But this time she wouldn't return since the other galgos were already back with the group and she didn't seem to want to come too close to the pack of strange dogs. Next time I expect we will see them at full speed. We shall see if Meagan does the chasing next time.
