Digital Detox in progress

I have recently read Jaron Lanier‘s newest book:
Ten Arguments for Deleting Your Social Media Accounts Right Now (2018). It makes some great arguments for those who are in a position to do so to remove themselves from social media platforms. As a result I am exporting my data off of Facebook and Google, Instagram, and moving everything to my own blog.

I highly recommend the book and would love to encourage and help others to move to a platform that gives them full control of the content they publish and the content that they consume.

On the 50th Anniversary of the Death of America’s greatest 20th Century Leader: Martin Luther King

Let’s remember in this time of rising authoritarianism one of Martin Luther King’s many important statements on oppression:

“To accept passively an unjust system is to cooperate with that system; thereby the oppressed become as evil as the oppressor,”, King wrote in his essay “Three Ways of Meeting Oppression.”
We are obligated to resist as much as the oppressor is obligated to hear our protests. And so we resist..

Zeev Ramiel “Vision of Colors”

P234
P233

Had a great time helping out with the exhibit at Gallerie Steiner when Zeev came to Vienna. He is a lot of fun to work with and it turned out to be a good idea that he brought his friend Armando to help with the setup the day before. We had a pretty good turn out. Visit before the show ends November 5th. Contact me if you are interested in any of the prints in other formats or framed.

Mmm… Mukata (Thai BBQ)

P197

My friends Vala and Leon visited Thailand and brought back this Thai BBQ device in which a bowl of coals has a spaghetti strainer type lid placed on top of it and then the gutter is filled with pork broth, noodles and veggies. Then pork strips are grilled and mix with the soup. Nice compact way of cooking everything in a very small space right on the table!

Vintage Austrian Military Truck

P185

This cool vintage Austrian military truck was parked in front of my apartment today. Reminded me of the WWII T17 staghound armored car named after my dog. Although it really is nothing like them. Afer a quick Google search I still do not know exactly what make or model of truck this is, and I did not bother to look real close to see a name on it.
